Imagine: First Semester. Freshman Year. First College Date... at the dining hall, if that even counts as a date. Anyway, the boy who was taking me on the "date" was a Junior while I was merely a Freshman, so, obviously, I was beyond excited to be going on a date with a twenty-year-old.
Dinner was fine, I got my usual pizza and a salad. The conversation was fine, nothing too thrilling, but, nothing too awkward, either.
Skip to the end of the night...
The part of the night I was dreading: the goodbye.
I had so many questions; was there going to be a kiss? or just a hug? or a wave?
When we got to the lobby of my dorm, I thanked him and went in for a hug, which he apparently mistook for a kiss, so leaned in to kiss me. I think the best way to explain my expression as he tried to kiss me is the look one has after they bite into a surprisingly sour piece of candy... with my eyes open. I immediately pulled away and started to walk away, flustered.
As I was walking away, he looked at me and said, "I don't even get a hug?" I reluctantly turned around and gave him a hug and then scurried off.
Always being single does not equal being desperate. I was not about to make out with a guy I didn't really know in my dorm lobby on a Wednesday night. Those factors don't exactly scream romantic make out session.
Surprisingly, that was not the last time I went on a date with the Junior although, it obviously didn't last or I would not be... perpetually single.
I'm perpetually single. I always pick the wrong guys and the wrong guys always pick me. This isn't a blog for me to sulk, but instead a blog to turn a negative situation into a positive one. It's a compilation of my funny single stories, past and current crushes, and my most awkward single moments.

Why Do Single Girls Only Get Hit On By Undesireable Men?
Today as I was walking to class, two men who were definitely over 50-years-old and over 250 pounds, honked their horn at me and made "kissy" faces at me out of their window.
Why do I attract such undesirable men?

Single and Crush-less
Not only am I currently single (as always) but, I for once don't like (yes, as in like-like) anyone.
So, there's not even any hope for a boyfriend. Unless you consider my crush on the boys from Gossip Girl a real crush but, I don't see any of these men panning out to be my boyfriend.
Oh well, it's a new semester and I'm sure it will bring me plenty of awkward encounters with guys!
